I designed the logo and branding standards for Dry Creek Hideaway, a vacation home rental tucked away in the rolling hills of western North Dakota, near the famous vacation spot, Medora. It is located in the midst of a working ranch that cares for the land, the livestock and the people.
In my conversations with the owner, Trish, I learned she wanted this brand to reflect and resonate with people searching for a quiet vacation home with plenty of opportunities to explore the surrounding area, and also soak in the quiet of rural ND. I developed a system of logos that includes a primary combination mark, a badge, a word mark, and a monogram to be used collaboratively across platforms.
Another important goal of this project was to create a booking website that was easy to use for all customers. I learned the technicalities of the Hotel Booking integration, and we tested many stages of the site to ensure a positive user experience when booking your stay at DCH.
The color palette include earthy green and scoria red tones, along with a warm yellow and dusty blue pulled from the beautiful sunsets of the North Dakota prairies.
